Shauna Pupp
Shauna Pupp, Registered Psychologist #3557, has offered clinical services in Calgary since 2009.
During that time, she has developed expertise in adolescent mental health, couple’s treatment-ranging from martial therapy regarding issues of separation, divorce and family blending- clinical depression and anxiety, and the core concept of trauma. As a registered psychologist, her services are covered by psychology inclusive insurance policies.
Specific to this last area of practice, Ms. Pupp has attended to the needs of first responders, veterans and law enforcement personnel. One aspect of this treatment has been her expertise and certification in therapeutic human-horse interaction: Equine therapy. Undertaken at her office/equine center, patients suffering depression, anxiety or post-traumatic distress, as well as marital/relationship conflict, are offered a structured and empirically supported approach to resolution. She is certified in Equine Assisted Learning and is a clinical advisor/program facilitator for Wounded Warriors Canada.
Shauna’s areas of practice reach beyond the consulting room. She is a principle manager of Amundson and Associates, one of the oldest independent practices in Alberta. She is leading the expansion of the Amundson office to include an acreage setting to include aspects of nature into the healing process.
Her contributions to the profession include, professional consultation, committee work with professional associations-The Psychologist Association of Alberta and her consultation with and for The College of Alberta Psychologists and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). Academic research has involved health psychology, post-traumatic resolution with law enforcement patients, and the healing nature of equine focused treatment.
